The competition was a lot of fun and a huge success.
Urban Beat earned a High Silver and a Gold, plus they scored in the top overall 5 for ages 13 and under small group pieces.
Urban Vibe earned two Ultimate Gold awards. In addition, they scored the highest out of all class-sized pieces with "Imma Be" and earned a huge trophy with a cash prize.
"Tonight/Outta Control" placed in a tie with "Slow me down" from The Prestige for 5th place overall high score for large group pieces.
In addition to earning that overall high score award, The Prestige also earned two Ultimate Gold Awards. Their other piece, "Habanera," earned the 3rd place overall high score for large group pieces.
Our very own trio, "Belief," earned a High Silver.
We are very proud of all of our dancers. We are thankful for the opportunity to compete, express ourselves and have some fun in Portland.

The Hype!
This high-energy, entertaining youth performance showcased jazz and hip-hop dance talent. The show was Saturday, February 6th at the Soreng Theater. All of our dancers did an amazing job! And we want to say a big THANK YOU to all of our guest groups that performed too. Show pics are coming soon, so stay tuned.

About the The Dance Factory!
The Dance Factory is an independent program that leases space from the Eugene Ballet Academy at 1590 Willamette St. Our principal focus is hosting company classes for our four amazing performance companies with dancers ranging from ages 10-28 years of age.
These companies are: Urban Beat, Urban Vibe, The Prestige and the acclaimed 18+ company Urban Pulse. The companies predominantly perform jazz and hip hop dance with a range of fusion styles in between from the Charleston to lyrical jazz.
For those who dance at The Dance Factory, dance is a means of expression, release and joy. Dancing promotes energy and unity. Our passion is to share the joy of dance and performance to others in the community. _____________________
