PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE A big part of being on a dance company is performing. The Dance Factory instructors expect you to be at all events. However, if and when you can't make an event, let us know plenty of time in advance. Changing formations for the groups is hard to do, but with careful planning we can handle it. Performances are subject to change. Many more will be added throughout the year. |

Dear parents, guardians and dancers,
Thank you for your interest in The Dance Factory Performance Companies. The Dance Factory Performance Companies are unique to Eugene as we offer young dancers technical training in either jazz and or hip-hop while building basic fundamental skills that can easily transfer into any genre of dance. We also provide an opportunity to perform in the community and to compete at regional dance competitions in the Portland Metro area.
Who's who amongst the companies:Here at The Dance Factory we are disciplined as teachers and as dancers. We look for dancers who are serious about dance and taking it to the next level. We love dance and want to share it with dancers who are eager to learn more and explore their full potential. Dance develops balance, control, posture, focus and fine-tunes listening skills. Because dance inherently involves problem solving, patterns and sequencing, it enhances higher thinking abilities. Quality training in dance and technique promotes self-confidence, creativity and a sense of exuberance in accomplishment. The Dance Factory and its instructors are committed to developing all of these attributes in a nurturing environment. Urban Pulse (ages 18 - young adult): This company is at an accelerated advanced level and while the company is predominantly a hip-hop company, choreography is often mixed with modern, jazz, African, pop and funk. This company meets twice a week for two hours each time. This dance company will be performing locally throughout the year. Urban Vibe (ages 14 - young adult): This advanced level hip-hop company is high energy and choreography is often fused with funk, pop and street jazz. This company meets twice a week for an hour and half each time. This dance company will be performing locally as well as competing in the spring. Urban Beat (ages 10-15): This intermediate level dance company will train in both hip hop and jazz. Each class is once a week for an hour and a half. The hip hop class is high impact and peppered with funk and street jazz. The jazz instruction integrates a variety of styles, including lyrical, contemporary and a fast technical jazz. This dance company will be performing locally as well as competing in the spring. The Prestige (ages 14- young adult): This advanced group integrates a variety of jazz styles, including: lyrical, contemporary and a fast technical jazz. This company meets twice a week for an hour and half each time. This dance company will be performing locally as well as competing in the spring. ________________________________________
